Evolution & Clinical Leadership
Originally established in 2008, the practice evolved into its current form following extensive clinical research experience that reshaped its therapeutic approach. What began as a traditional massage practice developed into a structured, outcome-aware model emphasizing fascia continuity, neuromuscular precision, and measurable functional change.
Many clients seek care at Empirical Knead after exploring other therapeutic approaches without achieving lasting change. Our objective is not temporary relief alone, but restoring functional capacity and improving quality of life by addressing the underlying structural mechanisms influencing each client’s experience.
Dedric Golden Standard
Empirical Knead is led by Dedric Carroll, published clinical researcher and Clinical Director. Led the technical and training of clinical research trials for 13 years with peer reviewed publication outcomes continues to inform the structure, training standards, and refinement of care. Conducted a controlled 10 year classroom observational study with massage students in 2 experimental designs of 2 comparison massage protocols.
Asking: Can ROM be increased without. stretching? Is the mechanism a reduction of local inflammation via massage influences an increased ROM. Gathering 10 years of data that illustrates that local reduction in inflammation as identified in the published data. Influences ROM increase without stretching. Increased range of motion/flexibility has a connection to immune function and history of health and longevity. More research is needed but it is an indicator that points the way to answer the questions about longevity and the connective tissue integrity presentation. Longevity gene? I have coined to describe those with stable fluid access to ease in flexibility and tissue integrity, which is consistent with a history of family centenarians. Stay tuned...
